The  Challenges  I  Faced

Although my results opened tremendous job opportunities for me, I quickly realised that while nursing school had thoroughly prepared me for patient care, not much had been done in terms of guidance and opportunities for nursing career growth and development. 

After so much confusion on whether I should work in medicine, surgery, community etc I finally relocated to London and took on my first role as a newly qualified nurse.

The  Next  Steps  I  Took

I Still vividly remember the excitement when I received confirmation of my NMC Pin Number, realising that all the hard work had paid off! But again, this was only the beginning of a long, eventful and challenging career journey.

I was ambitious and ready to invest whatever was needed, to enable me to achieve Great Success in my Nursing Career.

However, I very swiftly realised that I had nowhere to readily access career development opportunities and pathways in Nursing, as everyone I approached did not have an answer to this.

I met nurses who had been qualified for many years, but they too were struggling and unsure how to take their nursing careers, to the next level.

Therefore to succeed, I had to figure this out somehow, eventually leading me to secure an ACP Job, within 5 years of qualifying as a nurse.
